I have a severe obsession with the beach. San Francisco offers limited beach days that are to my liking, warm and sunny. However, what the coast lacks in perfect tanning days it makes up for in gorgeous backdrops. From flora covered dunes to rocky cliffs, the inspiration led me out to Baker Beach for a shoot. With model Alexandria from Skribbled Skirt, new pieces by Umber & Ochre in tow, and the beginning of an amazing sunset we took advantage of this golden hour.

My Mini Staycation At The Kinney, Venice Beach, California

My idea of a staycation is staying within California lines. Shocked to say this but I was looking for a vacay that didn't require a passport or a flight over 2 hours. Yearning for an extended weekend that promised sun and lots of naps, I headed to my happy place, Venice Beach. A search for a cute hotel pulled up the perfect place to make my sun filled dreams and tan lines come true, The Kinney. Located in between the Venice Beach Boardwalk and the wallet draining, boutique lined Abbot Kinney, it was the perfect place to post up. With bright murals covering the hotel and an outdoor area flooded with sun, lounge chairs and ping pong tables, the reservation was made. Quirky art flowed into the rooms along with mid-century style furniture. After wine and jacuzzi sessions the extra large plush beds enveloped me into dream naps. The icing on the stay was the attentive and accommodating staff... I'll definitely be back.
