New York Fashion Week- Pyer Moss Collection

Curiosity and excitement fills me before going to a fashion show. Always anxious for eyefuls of fashion, from the streets to the runway. Then there are the times where it goes beyond just a showing of clothes and transcends into deeper messages, the runway utilized as a platform.  Such is the case with attending a Pyer Moss show. Designer Kerby Jean-Raymond ensures that every aspect of the presentation makes a point, and hits a chord. Going into this show I still hadn't shook the previous Bernie vs. Bernie show, touching on issues from police brutality to capitalism. That being said my anticipation for the fall/winter 18 showing was palpable.

New York Fashion Week- Yes, this is me Collection with Custo Barcelona

Spain based brand Custo Barcelona showcased their "Yes, This Is Me" collection during New York fashion week. The message behind the collection is of the individuality and strength of women, and the ability to express ourselves freely.

New York Fashion Week- Portrait of A Lady with Australian Designer Alice McCall

Coming from the land down under, Australia, designer Alice McCall's first showing at New York fashion week quickly rose to the top of my faves list. The show overall was undeniably feminine starting with the beautiful floral carpet lining the runway. The fauna theme was mimicked in flirty pieces and thigh high boots that floated down the runway. Ruffles adorned shoulders and shoes while sheer intricately embellished laces gave of a chic boho vibe. Pastel metallic high waisted skirts were paired with lurex sweaters. McCall's designs are playful and chic with a sexy twist. It's no wonder her fanbase includes the likes of Kate Moss & Beyonce.

New York Fashion Week, Mint Swim by Draya Michele

It may be freezing in NYC but Draya Michele, designer of Mint Swim, heated things up showcasing her recent swimwear collection at New York fashion week. Founded in 2011 and based in Los Angeles Mint Swim is a line that focuses on accentuating the female form, all shapes and sizes. The collection included plunging necklines, asymmetrical cut-outs and feminine ruffles. Bikini bottoms were cut Brazilian style, some including floor length fringe that swayed down the runway. Sheer cover-ups completed the collection making sure you're covered for your next beach vacay.
